*The band had a great gig down at "The Mermaid Theatre" on May 4th, as part of "The Barbican International Jazz & Blues Festival". We should like to take this opportunity to thank all of our many friends at Plymouth Jazz Club for there for their kind supopport.

*For the last couple of months it has become very obvious that the affiliation with the dance club has resulted in a drop of support from those people who came to the club just to listen and to hopefully enjoy the music. At the same time the extra revenue generated by this affiliation has meant that the club has survived financially, and we are very grateful to all of the dancers who made this possible. At the same time, both Graham and I are committed to giving the best possible evening at the best possible price, therefore we have agreed a compromise. Starting in April we shall alternate between dance nights and jazz nights, so that both dancers and listeners will be provided with what they most enjoy. Dance nights will feature the dance floor and non-stop dancing throughout the evening. Jazz nights will feature no dance floor and tables set out for listening, and will feature guest performers and of course the “world famous” raffle. Needless to say we shall welcome dancers who come to listen on jazz nights and listeners who come to dance (or only listen!) on dance nights. This means that there will be no summer break this year as we will continue throughout the July/August period. We are also returning to the smaller room as we feel that the atmosphere there was more intimate for all concerned.

Dates will be as follows:
Sunday May 11th. Dance Night
Sunday June 8th. Jazz Night
Sunday July 13th. Dance Night
Sunday August 10th. Jazz Night
Sunday September 14th. Dance Night
Sunday October 12th. Jazz Night
Sunday November 9th. Dance Night
Sunday December 14th. Christmas Party

*Please note that Dance Nights will start at 7.00pm and end at 10.00pm. Jazz nights 8pm-10.45pm

We hope that the new arrangement will suit all of our friends and followers, and that you will all support us in our efforts to continue to promote live jazz in our area.

*2008 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the band, with appearances at Jazz clubs both new and old lined up, and of course our regular spots at Upton already booked. Also the year has been finalized for JB2 & JB3 residencies at The Kilkeney, Andoversford, and The Royal George, Birdlip respectively. The events diary below will tell where you can catch up with us. We really do value your support, and it is always a great pleasure to see our friends , and entertain them whenever and wherever possible.
